EAST RANGA 2021

East Ranga, tense moments at the bank.jpg

We are now in the final days of the 2020 season. As of yesterday 8,544 salmon and a few hundred sea trout have been landed in 115 days to an average of around 16 rods per day.

Looking forward to the 2021 season, East Ranga managing agent RIPP Sporting has opened the booking chart and due to fishers transferred from 2020 and high demand there is already limited availability in July but some excellent August rods open. Please contact pr@rippsporting.com for information.

Whilst hoping that we are blessed with good returns next summer, it would perhaps be unrealistic to hope for something as spectacular as this summer’s run? Having said that, the 2020 smolts left the river in great shape and in great numbers and given the sheer size of the 2020 grilse run all indicators would point to a big return of multi sea winter salmon in 2021.

The reality is - who knows? But as fishers we all live in hope that the first fish to return in 2021 will be joined by many thousands more soon after, and for East Ranga to offer epic sport to its visiting fishers.
