ALL TIME RECORD
The ’prime’ season at East Ranga has ended, the all time record catch of 7,473 has been exceeded, and the lodge has now closed for the winter. The final month of fishing will become increasingly autumnal, and numbers of fresh fish entering the river will decrease to a trickle.
In terms of fishing, it has been a wonderful summer for East Ranga. After a decent June and early July, with good numbers of large fish, mid July and all of August saw what seemed to be a virtually continuous run of fresh salmon. We did have an unusually high number of rainy days in mid July and the first half of August, and with it plenty of milky and green water, but fishing held up even during these tougher periods.
Gunnar and his guides worked tirelessly to ensure a fantastic service on the river, and Alicja and Lenka’s lodge team provided a standard of service, cuisine and hospitality that was appreciated by all guests.
We now look forward to a period of preparation for 2021. Winter will see further renovations to the lodge and facilities, and planning for how we can make the on-river experience better and more enjoyable still.
From all staff, guides and management - A sincere thank you to all who fished East Ranga this summer.
