THE RUN CONTINUES…
We have been very lucky. The run this summer has been extraordinary, the season has gone past 6,500 salmon and still the river is receiving fish fresh off each tide.
Great fishing has allowed many of the COVID-cancelled rods to be resold domestically and to some intrepid travellers prepared to take test and quarantine in order to cast for a salmon or two.
The terrible early and mid August weather has also abated and for the past 10 days warm, calm days have given way to cool nights and the beginning of the Aurora Borealis (northern lights) - Monday night saw a great display, best enjoyed from the East Ranga hot tubs!
The volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallarjokull are watching over us, the river is very clear and full of salmon. We have been very lucky.
