SUNRAYS & HAPPY DAYS
Thursday and Friday last week were all but written off due to huge rain, but Saturday saw the sun return and the fishing go utterly crazy. Clearing water and the continuing huge runs, meant that the rods enjoyed fishing the likes of which we could not have dreamed.
The following 5 days say approaching 700 salmon landed to an average of 12-14 rods, among them several novices who fared well under the expert instruction of our guides. Larger flies and sink tips the most productive but nonetheless around 150 salmon were landed on floating lines and decent sized hitched Sunray Shadows or Collie Dogs.
In the lodge the atmosphere has been jovial, plenty of celebratory drinks and stories of fish landed and lost. The lodge staff and chef have worked tirelessly to ensure our rods are well fed and ‘watered’ before heading to the river, and we look forward to the busy week ahead with excitement.
After another large cancelled group (due to COVID travel issues) we have rods from 30 July through until 11 August so please do email pr@eastranga.com if you would like information.
