RAIN & FRESH RUNS

East Ranga Super fresh 3.8.20.jpg

This week we lost a couple of days’ fishing to impressive storms and rising coloured water. So to end the week with 680+ salmon landed to 12-17 rods was a great result.

Sport continues to be fantastic on beats 8, 6, 5, 3 and 1, with beats 9, 6 and 2 being more patchy but still providing action to enjoy…and some of the larger fish.

Almost unbelievably the runs of salmon entering the river seem larger than the previous 20 days, with the bulk of brand new fish in the 6-8lb range interspersed some cracking MSW salmon landed with long tailed lice in the 14-19lb range - and epic fighters in the heavy cold water.

With overcast skies and a rainy forecast for the next week we can expect some greenish colour to remain in the water, but sport should continue to be frantic and exciting.
